DAPA
An exciting alliance of six Niagara-based professional theatre and dance companies have created DAPA; the Downtown Alliance for the Performing Arts. DAPA's first project was the creation of the Downtown Arts Pass - a card that offers discounts to 12 productions and over 95 performances at the Sullivan Mahoney Courthouse Theatre in downtown St.Catharines. The six companies involved - Lyndesfarne Theatre Projects, Carousel Players, Suitcase in Point, Essential Collective Theatre, the Niagara Dance Company and Theatre Beyond Words - are aiming to promote cultural activity such as theatre and dance, grow their audiences, and heighten the profile of the arts in St.Catharines.
Currently, anytime you buy a ticket to any of the participating company's shows, you receive one of the Downtown Arts Passes FREE. Immediately, the card can be used for discounts at several downtown businesses and restaurants who are part of this exciting new venture.
Participating businesses and restaurants: BB Blooms, Fine Grind Cafe, Carlos Cantina, De La Terre Cafe and bakery, H20 Only, Liberty! Bicycles, Lousje and Bean, Pan Restaurant, Singers Auto and Strega Cafe.
Lyndesfarne Theatre Projects is an affiliate member of PACT (Professional Association of Canadian Theatres).
LTP engages under the Independent Theatre Agreement, professional theatre artists who are members of Canadian Actors Equity Association.
