As an educator, and Artistic Director of LTP,
Kelly Daniels
students have been accepted to NTS, George Brown, Studio 58, U of Alberta, and The Stratford Academy and most recently invited to audition at Julliard in New York. Kelly has taught at the university performance level for almost 20 years. She is a professional director and actor, and has been honoured to work
with this country’s most highly acclaimed actors from The Shaw, Stratford, and across Canada.
John Callander
has been taught by the film industry’s most highly respected teacher Warren Robertson. Warren’s students have included Jessica Lange, and Robert Deniro. John is also a Leo Award winning film writer for a film called “Ill Fated,” which can be rented at video outlets, or ordered on line. There are few people in this industry with the ability to read the actor as intuitively as John.
Learn the basic skills of acting and more….
Learn the basic skills of acting that the professionals practice. Learn from experienced professional actors and directors in the industry who have acted with some of the greatest actors and legends of the theatre and the Hollywood film industry. Begin to develop your own technique. Learn about the industry, and the business of acting. Explore various physical and vocal training approaches. Develop your skills of learning how to read and analyze drama. Instantly understand the elements of a scene and what it means to connect with the character so that you can jump right in and act. Scene study, improvisation, approaches to character work and stage craft will all play a role in this dynamic and exciting workshop. Build self-esteem and confidence. Develop communication skills. Meet really cool people you have something in common with – you all want to act. You know you can. All you have to do is do it! We’ll show you how.
Daily schedule for the week of
March 12 - 16:
10:00 am – 4:00 pm each day
Typical day
10:00 – 11:30: Wake- up! Getting in touch with your instrument – your body, mind and voice – and making it work for you!
11:30 – 11:45: Break
11:45 – 12:45: Character Study
12:45 – 1:30: Lunch
1:30 – 3:30: Acting technique
3:30 – 4:00: Daily wind up – question and answer period, discussion on the day, reflecting on the learning, the industry, and the business of acting and how acting skills can help you throughout life.
Saturday, March 17 is
Presentation Day – your family and friends are invited 1 - 4 pm
