Artistic Director Kelly Daniels welcomes Jon: We have been waiting for this day for a long time and I am so thankful it has finally arrived! On behalf of everyone at Lyndesfarne I welcome Jon into the fold. Jon's experience and strengths are exactly what this organization needs and I look forward to working with him in building a strong future for Lyndesfarne as a major force in the cultural vibrancy of St. Catharines and the Niagara Region.
Of his appointment Jon said I am delighted to have the opportunity to be joining LTP at this exciting time. Over the last 4 years, Lyndesfarne has proven a vital part of the cultural life in the area; I look forward to working with Kelly on developing the strengths of the company with our great main-stage season, Busker Festival and our continuing and growing commitment to outreach and education, further ensuring that Lyndesfarne becomes the destination of choice for a wide variety of theatre audiences.
As an actor, Jon has appeared in various productions in London's West End, including the original Palace Theatre production of Les Miserables, and as part of the International Cast at the Royal Albert Hall. His other work includes regular appearances on UK radio station Oneword, where he anchored and acted across the station's output. For BBC Radio, he co-created (with Felicity Duncan), the children's show The Adventures of PG Woodlouse, which was broadcast for five years, and in which he also played half the characters. Since moving to Canada, Jon has appeared in Narnia for TNB, A Christmas Carol for Neptune, and Afghanada for CBC Radio. As a playwright, his play Hard as Nails, won Best New Play at The London Writers Competition, and was successfully produced for radio in the UK, and for the stage by Moving Arts Theatre in Los Angeles.
Since its inception in 2006, Lyndesfarne Theatre Projects (LTP) has brought high-quality, contemporary and classic live theatre to the audiences of the Niagara Region. The company serves several markets, with the Young Company and Downtown Drama Drop-In for children and youth; the Grey Matters program for seniors and their families; and two major theatrical productions for adult theatre audiences. The Company performs at the downtown Sullivan Mahoney Courthouse Theatre.
