Shakespeare created a lot of fascinating characters -- some of the most fascinating were his villains. They encompassed the worst of human characteristics, but their motives were often very real and surprisingly easy to relate: jealousy, heartbreak, bitterness, ignorance, inadequacy, envy, and madness. Shakespeare's Villains is an ode to the Bard –a one-man tour de force that explores and analyses his most villainous characters: the notorious Iago (Othello), the Macbeths (Macbeth), Shylock (The Merchant of Venice), Richard III (Richard III) and a few more that might cause pause for thought.
